Shanghai's first restaurant

Popolamama has its origin in a tiny space of 66 square meters in Kasai, Edogawa Ward, Tokyo. This is the beginning of a special pasta restaurant "Popolamama - Home of fresh spaghetti cooked just when you need it".


A variety of new methods were introduced to overturn the traditional Japanese view of pasta cuisine. These included high quality legitimate fresh pasta made from durum semolina, ground-breaking prices such as 390 yen for a dish, a kitchen operation that is capable of delivering in 5 minutes at its fastest not depending on a so-called central kitchen, and more.


Since then for more than 15 years, Popolamama has been receiving a great deal of support from customers in every region the restaurants have been introduced to and has developed more than 100 restaurants.


Moreover, aiming at a global operation, in order to spread fresh pasta cuisine in China, Popolamama opened its first restaurant in Shanghai.


Popolamama plans to increase its number of restaurants based in Shanghai. We are committed to becoming a chain of more than 200 restaurants providing more customers with "unpretentious delight".
